ATLANTA, Feb. 12, 2018 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ — The Atlanta Housing Authority (AHA) announces The Benoit Group and The Michaels Organization as development partners for the Englewood Manor development. Looking to create an innovative and dynamic sense of place and belonging, AHA and development partners will transform neighborhoods by providing innovative, market-income housing in the Englewood district, located along the Atlanta BeltLine.
The Englewood Manor development will serve as a catalyst for neighborhood revitalization and will be developed in two phases. The first phase of the development is a 36-acre property, located in southeast Atlanta near the Atlanta BeltLine, within the Chosewood Park neighborhood. The vision is to create a mixed-use development providing a variety of housing options with neighborhood serving amenities, such as grocery stores, retail options, as well as greenspace.

The 36 acres consist of two non-contiguous sites. The first is a 26-acre former public housing site located on the south side of Englewood Avenue and adjacent to the BeltLine’s Boulevard Crossing Park. The Benoit Group will develop 16 acres on the western portion of the site and The Michaels Organization will develop 10 acres on the eastern portion of the site. The second site is located on the north side of Englewood Avenue and adjacent to the BeltLine.

The Atlanta BeltLine, Inc. is currently working with AHA on a District Framework Plan for the section of SubArea 3 along the BeltLine, known as the Chosewood Park Transit Oriented Development (TOD). The Framework Plan addresses connectivity between neighborhoods surrounding the BeltLine, as well as public infrastructure and storm water management strategies. There have been a number of community outreach meetings that will continue through March 2018, after which the plan will be finalized.
