This page provides some help on using the freedivingspots database.
How do I add a spot?
Use the links at the top or bottom of a page that say "Add a location" (see image 1).

A direct link to that page is addlocation.php.
When follow this link you will get to a page where you can enter all the information you know about that spot (image 2). Note that you can point out the location of your spot on the map of the selected country by just clicking your mouse (image 3). Clicking the "Submit this freedive spot" will store the spot in the database.

Note: you do not have to register to add a spot to the database. If you want to make changes to spots you have entered, you do have to register and log in before you add the spot.
How do I register?
Follow the link Register on the main page, fill out the fields and submit the form. You will then receive an activation code on the email address you have specified. After activation of your account with that code you can log in to the site. Note that registration is free.
How do I change information of a spot?
If you have added a spot as a registered user, while logged in you can change the information you have provided about your own spots. Log in to the site, locate your spot by navigating through the world & region maps and click on you own spot to show the details.
You will see 2 images appear on the details page (see image 4).

If you click on the pen & paper image you can change & save the information of the spot you've added.
Unregistered users can not change information themselves, send us an email with the required changes and we will take care of that.
Can I comment on a spot?
Yes, everyone can make comments on a spot. When in the detailed view, follow the link "add a comment".
How do I find a spot?
Use the world and region maps to find your country. If you click on the country in the map, or use the link below, you will get the country overview (see image 5).

You can click on the name of the spot to get to the details on that spot. If you click on the headers of the various columns (like Name, Depth, Visibility) the list will be ordered on that particulur field.
Note that if you are logged in, you'll see an image of a diver, clicking that images will add that spot to the list of spots where you dive yourself.
I want to find a buddy
To find out who's diving where, use the Diver list page. This page will change according to the view you use on the database. On the world level it will show all freedivers, if you navigate to a region, it will only show freedivers for that region etc... for countries and spots.
I want to tell everyone where I freedive
If you are a registered user and logged in to the site, you will see images of divers appear on the countrylist (see image 5) or on the location details page (see image 4). If you click that image, the spot will be added to the list of sites where you dive. That list will be shown on the right hand side of the window when you are logged in (see image 6).
